The Riverdogs improved to 1-7 in the division (1-7 overall). The Twins fell to 3-5 in league play.

Callahan pitched out of a basesloaded jam in the top of the ninth inning, helped by his defense. After two walks, third baseman Peter Nebel stopped a line shot which saved a run as it went for an infield single, loading the bases.

Callahan struck out the following batter and retired the next Twin on a pop fly which ended the game.

The Twins scored their only run in the eighth, cutting the deficit to 2-1, but Callahan escaped further damage as he stranded runners at second and third.

The Riverdogs scored a run in the second and fourth frames. Caleb Konen’s single knocked in Andy Vogt who had doubled and advanced to third on Nebel’s base hit. Vogt scored the run in the fourth on a passed ball after he doubled and moved to third on Eric Dickmyer’s single.

Vogt led the Riverdogs in hits with two. Howards outhit the Twins 8-6.

In other division play last week, the Riverdogs lost to visiting Saukville, 9-7, on Friday night and fell to host Grafton, 15-3, on Saturday afternoon. Jordan Clark’s four hits and Dustin Kesner’s three RBIs keyed Grafton’s attack. Further information about the games wasn’t available at press time.
