Celia A. Cunningham, age 87, of Plymouth, passed away early Sunday morning, July 7, 2013, at St. Nicholas Hospital where she was a patient for the past five days.

She was born Oct. 31, 1925, in the town of Lyndon, a daughter of the late John and Estella Mary Doherty Cunningham. She attended Welcome Grade School in the town of Lyndon and Ideal Grade School in the town of Mitchell. She graduated from Waldo High School in 1943.

She worked at Cleveland Container (later known as Clevepak) for 42 years, retiring in 1985.

Celia was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth.

Survivors include a dear friend, Karen (Mark) Degner of Plymouth. She is also survived by many cousins, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by three sisters: Barbara Cunningham, Mary Cunningham and Catherine Mulvey and one brother-in-law: Thomas Mulvey.

Memorial prayer service was held Friday evening, July 12, at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Father Dan Volkert, pastor of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, officiated. Cremation has taken place and inurnment was in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Cascade.

A memorial fund is being established in Celia’s name for St. John the Baptist Angel Fund or the Sheboygan County Humane Society.
