AGES fundraiser Aug 24

Amazing Grace Equine Sanctuary, a horse rescue and adoption facility located in Elkhart Lake, will hold its fourth annual fund-raiser and open house on Saturday, Aug. 24, from noon to 5 p.m. The farm is located at W4985 County Road FF (just west of Hwy. 57).

Visitors may meet the horses and see animals from other rescue organizations that will include parrots, ferrets, wildlife, alpacas and dogs. There will be a brat fry and also a silent auction featuring many one-ofa kind items. Arts and craft vendors will include jewelry, photography, watercolors, fleece blankets, and more. Also planned are a Parelli natural horsemanship demonstration by Lisa Brotz, tack sale, carriage rides, horse rides for children, and live music by Brittney Mitchell. There is no admission fee.

The Amazing Grace Equine Sanctuary (AGES) was established in 2008 and is a 501(c)(3) organization devoted to helping unwanted horses find new homes. AGES is an all-volunteer non-profit funded by donations, adoption fees, and grants. In 2012, AGES was verified by the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries. Sixteen horses currently live at AGES, some of them permanently due to physical limitations, but most are available for adoption. In 2012, 20 horses found permanent homes.
