Johnsonville earns MOW fork

Every year the presenting sponsor for the Meals On Wheels fundraiser, June-A-Palooza will receive an 8-foot tall fork created by an artist of note. For 2013, Georg Vihos was selected for the honor. Johnsonville, the inaugural sponsor for this year’s event received the fork entitled ‘The Conference of The Birds’ which is based on an ancient Greek myth about a flock of a thousand birds that, during a period of darkness and turmoil, suddenly catch a glimpse of an image of perfection in one illuminated feather. One of the wisest birds reveals that the feather is a precognition–a visionary glimpse of Simorgh the Great One. In search of the radiant source, the birds create thunder as they fly into the sky. Nationally renowned artist Georg Vihos, who moved to Sheboygan to be near his daughter, is also a current Meals On Wheels client. Tony Rammer, creative director, brand communications, and Laura Stayer, shopper marketing, both of Johnsonville stand with Georg Vihos and ‘The Conference of The Birds’ at Johnsonville headquarters in Sheboygan Falls.
