DOROTHY A. SCHREY

Dorothy A. Schrey (nee Henningson), age 89, of Plymouth, passed away early Saturday morning, Aug. 3, 2013, at St. Nicholas Hospital under hospice care.

She was born May 16, 1924 in Ortonville, Minn., where she grew up on the Henningson family farm. She was a daughter to the late Christopher and Bothilde (Clemmenson) Henningson. In 1940, she graduated from Ortonville High School.

She was married to William Schrey on Dec. 26, 1945 in Dallas, Texas. He preceded her in death Feb. 10, 1980.

Dorothy was employed as a legal secretary for a law firm in Pittsburgh, Pa.; administrative secretary for the mayor of New Kensington, Pa.; and worked for many years as the parish secretary for St. Mary’s Church in New Kensington.

Dorothy was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth.

Dorothy enjoyed her family, especially the time spent with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading, completing jigsaw puzzles, watching the birds at her birdfeeder, and following her favorite football teams.

Dorothy is survived by her children: Mary Santangelo of Greensburg, Pa.; Kathy Dias of Indiana, Pa.; Maddy (Mike) Williams of Hope, Ind.; Will Schrey of Indiana, Pa., and Dotty (Bill) Bartnik of Plymouth, Wis.

She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-greatgrandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Schrey; her son, David Schrey; her grandson, Bob Santangelo; her brothers, Raymond and Bert Henningson; and her sisters, Florence Haugen, Helen Schmierbach and Avis Nelson.

Prayer services will be held Tuesday evening, Aug. 6, at 6 p.m. at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Fr. Daniel Lasecki will officiate. Cremation will take place following the services.

Relatives and friends may call at the SUCHON FUNERAL HOME from 3-6 p.m. Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Nicholas Hospital Hospice in memory of Dorothy Schrey.

A memorial Mass will also be held at a later time at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Kensington, Pa.
