Recipe for a summer day

St. Vincent de Paul recently hosted pool parties for high school and middle school students in the Plymouth School District area. High school participants met July 17 during 80 degree temperatures and middle schoolers met July 23 during 60 degree temperatures. Participants were treated to a meal at the City Park lower shelter, along with volleyball, basketball, water balloon fights and capture the flag. The city pool was rented from 8 to 10 p.m. both evenings with music provided by Revelstone DJ during the high school night. St. Vincent de Paul’s next youth event will be the second annual “End of Summer Bash.” Participants will have the opportunity to experience the many activities offered at Camp Anokijig including kayaking, canoeing, canoe races, gaga ball, volleyball, archery, BB guns, a cookout and bonfire. The dates are Aug. 26 for middle school and Aug. 27 for high school. The bash is open to the first 60 people per age group to sign up. St. Vincent de Paul youth activities are open to Plymouth School District residents and are free of charge to those who participate. To register, visit the St. Vincent de Paul Community Store or sign up online at svdpplymouth.org.
