23 bridge over 57 to be painted

Work will begin this week on the State 23 bridge overpasses at State 57 near the city of Plymouth in Sheboygan County, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation northeast region office in Green Bay has announced. Work is set to begin Friday, Aug. 16 and be completed in October.

The contractor is EURO Paint LLC of Lowellville, Ohio.

The project includes cleaning and repainting of the structural steel. Cost is estimated at $443,000. This maintenance work is expected to prolong the life of the bridges.

All four lanes of State 23 will remain open as part of this project. State 57, however, may be reduced to one lane in each direction, except during holidays.

Please note this project is being constructed concurrently with the ongoing State 57 resurfacing project already in progress from the south county line to State 32. That project is expected to be completed in October as well.
