Aaliyah Nicole Godfrey-Pennell, age 3, of Plymouth, joined the angels in heaven Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013.

She was born Oct. 13, 2009 in Sheboygan, Wis., a loving daughter of Robert Godfrey and Nicole Pennell.

Aaliyah attended Growing Generations Daycare in Plymouth and loved all her classmates.

She loved to color; she loved bubbles, stickers of all kinds, playing in the sand and our regular trips to the parks. Aaliyah was very talented and loved to sing and dance. She was a performer and put such huge smiles on everyone’s faces. She was very friendly and no matter what, she was always happy with a fun-loving spirit. She enjoyed any and all time with her daddy, cars, trucks, movies and cuddling. Aaliyah was the greatest gift and will be forever missed.

Her memory will always be in the hearts of all her family who survives her, which includes: her loving parents, Robert Godfrey and Nicole Pennell, both of Plymouth; three brothers: Robert Collins and Michael and Nicholus Godfrey and one sister, Olivia Godfrey; her maternal grandparents, Robert Pennell and Sherrell Dean, both of Plymouth; her paternal grandmother, Mary Ellen Godfrey of Minnesota; maternal great-grandfather, Donald Tykac of Plymouth and maternal great-grandmother, June Kopping of West Bend. Aunts and uncles that survive her include: Shane (Sylvia) Kopping of Plymouth, Trevor Kopping of Plymouth, Jerry Dean of Plymouth, Brandon Dean of Howards Grove, Brittney Dean of Plymouth, Kimberley Dean (her fiancé, Aaron Baines) of Plymouth, Kathy (Jim) Hahn of Milwaukee, Betty Collins of East Troy, Wis., Sharon (Scott) Dornburg of Minnesota, Helen (Mark) Martenson of Minnesota, Patricia Godfrey of St. Paul, Minn., Tina Godfrey of St. Paul and Jeraldine Godfrey of Michigan; four cousins: Logan, Mason, Aiden and Bella Kopping; and also survived by other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Frank Godfrey; paternal greatgrandmother, Donna Tykac; maternal greatgrandfather, Eugene Kopping and maternal great-grandparents, Bernice and Willis Pennell.

Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Plymouth. The Rev. Keith Hunholz will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park in the town of Sheboygan.

Relatives and friends may call at the CHURCH on Thursday afternoon from 1:30 p.m. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in her name.
