Panthers go 2-3 in dual tennis tourney

WAUWATOSA – The Plymouth Panthers finished 2-3 in the Wauwatosa East Invitational girls dual tennis tournament Monday and Tuesday.

The tourney opened the Panthers season. Team standings weren’t kept. PHS defeated East, 5-2 and Wisconsin Lutheran, 7-0; and lost to Oshkosh West, 6-1; Wauwatosa West, 6-1 and Pewaukee, 5-2.

Senior Elizabeth Raaeder led the Panthers’ singles lineup with a 4-1 record at the No. 1 spot, followed by Chloe Kastelic, 2-3, at No. 2. Also competing in singles were Shyenne Genette (1-4) at No. 3 and Sierra McNeil (1-4), No. 4.

Leading Plymouth’s doubles teams were seniors Beth Brisson and Elle Klecka at No. 1 with a 4-1 mark. Elizabeth Bolland and Paige Stoney were 2-3 at the No. 2 position, and Hannah Anhalt and Becca Franzen finished 2-3 at No. 3.

“Elizabeth Raeder, and Beth Brisson and Elle Klecka had a great start to the season,” said new Panther head coach Jason Jaeckels.

The Panthers will compete in the Fond du Lac Quadrangular Friday at 9 a.m.
