Sandra L. Prahl, 47, of Little Elkhart Lake, died peacefully at her home with her loving family by her side Tuesday evening, Aug. 27, 2013, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.

She was the former Sandra Brillowski, born March 6, 1966 in Sheboygan, daughter of Joseph and Phyllis (Cutler) Brillowski.

Sandy attended Horace Mann Middle School and was a 1984 graduate of Sheboygan South High School. She continued her education at Lakeshore Technical College, receiving a degree in business management.

On July 24, 1987, she married the love of her life, Howie Prahl, in Johnsonville, Wis.

The couple founded, owned, and operated Priced Right Exteriors, where Sandy worked out of the house so she could stay at home and raise her daughters. She also worked at U.S. Bank and was most recently at Bank Mutual in New Holstein and Sheboygan, serving as the branch manager until retiring due to her health.

She was a devoted and amazing wife, mother and daughter who always had a big smile, contagious laugh, heart of gold, and welcoming hug for everyone.

Her family always came first. She volunteered as a softball and basketball coach, Girl Scout leader, taxi driver for her daughters and their friends and helped at her daughters’ school.

Sandy enjoyed cooking, boating, gardening, traveling and snowmobiling, but mostly any time she could spend with her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Howie; three daughters, Samantha Prahl (fiancé, Brian Bastil), Andrea Prahl and Jolene Prahl; parents, Joseph and Phyllis Brillowski; and three sisters, Laura (Michael) Thompson, Rosemont, Minn.; Rhonda (Marc) Brami, Sheboygan and Gina (Randy) Turley, Phoenix, Ariz. She is further survived by her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Kenneth and Betty (Wreidt) Prahl; aunts, uncles, in-laws, other relatives, many special friends; and grand-puppies, Ellie, Nahla, Lucy and her cat, Harmony.

Funeral services for Sandra were held at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, 815 Sixth St., Kiel, with Chaplain Marianne Brandt officiating. Burial took place in Schleswig Cemetery, Rockville.

Visitation was held at the funeral home Friday from 2 p.m. until 5:15 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name.

A caringbridge website has been established ( sandyprahl).
