Tigers roll to third win in a row

HOWARDS GROVE – The Howards Grove Tigers won their third straight boys soccer match, cruising past Cedar Grove-Belgium, 6-2, in Central Lakeshore Conference action here Thursday afternoon.

The Tigers, who led 5-0 early in the second half, improved to 3-1 in the CLC (6-2 overall).

Sophomore forward Derrick Grimm spearheaded the Tigers’ offense with two goals. Madison Dolata, Ben Dehne, Jordan Fischer and Dakota Rabe contributed one goal each.

Dehne, a sophomore forward, led the Tigers in assists with two. Rabe and Grimm had one each.

Howards held an impressive 22-3 lead in shots on goal. Tiger goalkeeper C.J. Berg made one save.

“The boys worked hard today [Thursday]. They did a nice job possessing the ball, spreading the field and winning the 50/50 balls,” said Tiger head coach Todd Fischer.

“I was impressed with the effort and communication.”

Tyler Garside scored both of the Rockets’ goals.
