MARY GRACE DEICHER

Mary Grace Deicher, age 83, of Plymouth, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, at the Rocky Knoll Health Care Center in Plymouth.

She was born Feb. 20, 1930 in Hartford, Wis., daughter of the late William and Catherine (Abhold) Thuermer.

She attended Mt. Calvary grade school, graduated from St. Mary Springs High School in Fond du Lac, and attended Marquette University.

On May 30, 1951, she married Kenneth Gilbert Deicher at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mt. Calvary.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth, sang in the church choir and was a member of the Christian Women.

Mary enjoyed being a leader in the Camp Fire Girls, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, where she served as president, a member of the Quit Qui Oc Golf Ladies League and Putting League, and a member of the Plymouth Red Hat Society, the Plymouth Yacht Club, Plymouth Professional Business Women, and the Plymouth Gourmet Club. She was also a Mary Kay consultant for many years.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Kenneth of Plymouth; six children: Mary Catherine (Clark Kaufmann) Deicher, Mark William (Kathleen) Deicher, Michael Peter Deicher, Phyllis (Jeff) Ladwig, Jennifer (Allan) Morgen and Carrie (Thomas) Rooker; 14 grandchildren: Eliot Kaufmann, Nathan Deicher, Willie (Heather) Deicher, Jonny Deicher, Mary (Willis) Weatherford, Erica (Logan) Link, Carly Deicher, Maren (Aaron) Romanoski, Elissa Ladwig, Jessica (Kyle) Fale, Andrew Morgen, Christopher Morgen, Justin Rooker and Elizabeth Rooker; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Joan Mihm; and a sister-in-law, Jean Koene.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth with the Rev. Daniel Volkart officiating. Mary Grace’s cremains will be buried in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call at the church Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
