Ruth M. Brautgam, age 92, of Plymouth, formerly of Washington, D.C., died Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, at the Rocky Knoll Health Care Center in Plymouth.

She was born July 25, 1921 in Plymouth, daughter of the late Carl and Emma (Frier) Brautgam.

She attended Plymouth grade schools and graduated from Plymouth High School and furthered her education by attending Business College above the old Adams Drug Store.

Ruth was recruited by the United States Navy to work as a secretary in Washington, D.C., and later worked for Manufacturing Exports.

She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Plymouth.

In her free time, she enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles along with watching various sports.

She is survived by three nieces, Karen (Harold) Luedtke of the town of Plymouth, Sharon (Terry) Steinke of the town of Lyndon and Kay (Steven Kaye) Brautgam of Ballground, Ga.; a nephew, John (Annette) Lemieux of Waukesha; five great-nieces, five great-nephews, five great-great-nieces, and four great-great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, four brothers, three brothers in-law, and a sister-in-law.

Private family graveside services will be held at the Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery.
