Tigers’ CLC winning streak to five with win over Ozaukee

HOWARDS GROVE – The Howards Grove Tigers made it five straight wins in Central Lakeshore Conference boys soccer as they rolled past visiting Ozaukee, 6-1, Tuesday afternoon.

The Tigers raised their CLC record to 5-1 (9-4 overall). Howards is in second place in the CLC behind Sheboygan Christian/Lutheran (6-0). The Tigers’ only league defeat was to Christian/Lutheran, 3-1.

Howards took command of Tuesday’s match with two goals in the first 1:10 to grab a 2-0 lead. Senior midfielder Madison Dolata scored the first goal only 40 seconds into the match, assisted by Dakota Rabe.

Only 30 seconds later, sophomore forward Ben Dehne kicked a goal for a 2-0 score.

The Tigers built a 5-0 halftime lead as Dolata, Jordan Fischer and Derrick Grimm added one goal each. Howards’ final goal was scored by Josh Eilers.

Fischer led Howards in assists with two. Dolata and Elijah Murphy had one assist apiece.

“The boys came out ready to play today. They did a nice job of possessing, passing and communicating,” said Tiger head coach Todd Fischer.

“We now have to prepare for the second round through the conference and competing for the conference title.”

Elijah Mabry kicked the Warriors’ goal in the 78th minute. Ozaukee dropped to 2-4 in the CLC (2-6 overall).

Tiger goalkeepers C.J. Berg and Hunter Voss made two saves and one, respectively.
