Layin' 'em down and tyin' 'em in



Crews from Railworks Inc. have been busy working in downtown Plymouth, putting in new ties on the Wisconsin and Southern Railroad line that runs from Saukville to Elkhart Lake. The work is part of a major rehabilitation project on the line, going on in conjunction with the restoration of the Plymouth to Kohler rail line. After large cranes placed the ties along the line (bottom and below right), the ties were put in place with special machinery (above and upper right), then crews put in the finishing touches (cover, right and below).
