HOWARDS GROVE—The village of Howards Grove has appointed a new assessor for assessment services and approved a threeyear assessment services contract.

Clerk/Treasurer Lavonne Athorp reported that the village contacted three assessment service providers. The highest bid came in at $7,500 per year for three years and the lowest bid was $4,800 per year for three years.

The village selected Tyler Technology because of their referrals and cost savings of about$2,700. Athorp said that the city of Plymouth and other communities in the area already use Tyler Technology services.

Athorp also reported that United Health Care and Delta Dental have presented the village with the best insurance options and costs.

The board members approved United Health Care and Delta Dental, effective Dec. 1. United Health Care costs will remain the same until Dec. 1, 2014. Delta Dental is a two-year contract.

Village President James Scheiber reviewed the monthly work in progress report. There was discussion on the work progress of the TLEs for the sidewalk project and how far the FEMA progress is with SMS.

Other items discussed by the board included the barn raising on Millersville Avenue. The pallet burning has been deferred to the Safety Committee. Harvest Homes calculations were deferred to the Finance Committee.

The village is looking for a display case for the historical donations to the village. Tennis court resurfacing was referred to the Parks Committee.

The village services survey was given to the Continuous Improvement Committee.
