LYDIA BERLIN

Lydia Berlin, 95, of Sheboygan Falls died Friday morning, Oct. 11, 2013, at Woodland Manor where she had resided for the past eight months.

Lydia was born June 29, 1918, the daughter of the late George and Marie (Seigwart) Klauser. She graduated from Ebenezer Lutheran Grade School and Sheboygan Central High School in 1937.

On Jan. 31, 1948, she married the late Carl F. Berlin Sr. in Sheboygan. Carl preceded Lydia in death Aug. 25, 1999, following 51 years of marriage.

Lydia was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Kohler and was involved with the Ladies Auxiliary there. She enjoyed baking, cooking, crocheting, making wedding cakes, reading and Bible study.

Lydia is survived by three sons, Tom (Marilyn) Berlin, Carl M. (Linda Brill) Berlin and Mark (Linda) Berlin, all of Sheboygan Falls; six grandchildren, Christopher (Rachel Weber) Berlin, Erin Berlin, Jennifer (Patrick Lorenz) Berlin, Brian (Jamie) Berlin, Jason (Andrea) Berlin and Jodi (friend, Trevor) Berlin; two great-grandchildren, Cooper and Riley Berlin; two sisters-in-law, Joanne (Howard) DeMaster of Shawano and Ann Klauser of Sheboygan Falls; and four step grandchildren, Greg (Leah) Walsh, Sara Walsh, Shannon (Cindy) Brill and Nathan Brill.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl F. Berlin; a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Goetsch Berlin; nine brothers and sisters.

A private family graveside service to celebrate Lydia’s life will take place at the Woodland Cemetery in Kohler with the Rev. Robert Steele officiating.

A memorial fund is being established in her name for Bethany Lutheran Church, Woodland Manor, or the St. Nicholas Home Health Care and Hospice.
