Elizabeth Marie Pitzen, age 70, town of Greenbush, passed away at her home early Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Elizabeth was born Aug. 25, 1943 in Plymouth, Wis., daughter of the late Frederick and Elizabeth Herber Brummeyer. She attended St. John’s Lutheran School in Plymouth and graduated from Elkhart Lake High School.

On March 4, 1961, she married Walter Pitzen at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Plymouth. They resided in the Greenbush area since their marriage. He preceded her in death Oct. 27, 2008.

She enjoyed gardening, going to garage sales, raising Norwegian elkhounds, bird banding, and especially enjoyed spending time with her loving family.

She is survived by her children: Karen (Joe) Lien of Columbus, Wis., James (Sarah) Pitzen of Plymouth and Tammy (Alan) Michaels of Glenbeulah; three grandchildren: Johnathan Pitzen, Robert and Andrew Michaels; her mother, Elizabeth Brummeyer of the town of Greenbush; one sister, Laurie (Bob) DeBruine of the town of Greenbush, and their children: Jeremy (Dana) DeBruine of Plymouth, Michael DeBruine of Colorado, Angela (Paul) Meyer of Kiel and Joshua (Becky) of Brownsville, Wis.; two sisters in-law, Mary Alice (Harold) Guelig of Fond du Lac and Carol (Ronald) Steffes of St. Peter; one brother-in-law, Francis (Theresa) Pitzen of Shawano; and also survived by other nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; her father, Fred Brummeyer; and two nephews, Paul and Bernie Guelig.

Following Elizabeth’s wishes, there will be NO VISITATON or SERVICES. Cremation has taken place and inurnment will be in the Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery.

A memorial fund is being established in her name.
