PHS finished 11-3 overall in league duals. Waupun successfully defended its EWC title with a 14-0 overall mark, including a 4-0 tourney record.

The Panthers capped off their strong tournament performance with a 25-21, 22-25, 25-22, 25-17 win over New Holstein.

“This was a great match to end our day on Saturday. By this match, both teams were fatigued and ready to finish,” said Panther head coach Peggy Huhn.

“I was very proud of my girls and their perseverance and competitiveness to keep playing and fighting for every point. We knew going into the game that we had to win to keep second place by ourselves in conference.

“If we would have lost, we would have shared with New Holstein. We had set a goal after our loss to Waupun and then Sheboygan Falls earlier in the season to win out and control what we could control. After beating New Holstein, that goal was achieved,” said Huhn.

The Panthers’ tourney statistical leaders included: kills – Kaily Moegenburg 47 and Nikki Reil 40; assists – Mary Albert 127; digs – Moegenburg 65, Mackenzie Haese 61 and Alyssa Uribe 58; and solo blocks – Reil 12.

Plymouth’s other tourney wins were against Campbellsport (25-23, 18-25, 25-18, 22-25, 15-12), Two Rivers (25-11, 25-14, 25-8) and Kewaskum (20-25, 25-13, 25-21, 25-13).
