Blanche M. Kegel, age 89, formerly of Cascade, Wis., passed away early Wednesday morning, Nov. 6, 2013, at Rocky Knoll Health Care Center where she had been a resident for the past six years.

She was born Nov. 6, 1924, in the town of Mitchell, Wis., a daughter of the late Edward and Stella Brooke Gahagan. She attended Parnell Grade School and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1942.

On June 30, 1951, she married Henry Kegel in Chicago, Ill., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The couple lived in Chicago after their marriage and for 17 years in Niles, Ill., before moving to Cascade in 1982. Henry preceded her in death May 2, 1999.

She worked at Fisher Scientific Co. in Chicago in the office for 30 years, retiring in 1982.

Blanche is survived by relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Fr. Richard Cerpich will officiate. Burial will be in Our Lady of the Lakes Cemetery (St. Mary’s Cemetery) in Cascade.

Friends may call at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth on Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Blanche’s name.
