EDNA E. RICHTER

Edna E. Richter, age 97, of Elkhart Lake, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at the Plymouth Care Center.

She was born March 19, 1916, in the town of Mosel, daughter of the late Gorden G. and Viola B. (Sixel) Horneck.

On April 24, 1937, she married Carl M. Richter in the town of Mosel. The couple farmed in the town of Rhine from 1942-49 when Carl was appointed county treasurer. Carl preceded her in death March 21, 1990.

She was a member of Community United Church of Christ in Elkhart Lake.

Edna was a homemaker and also drove school bus for several years. In her free time she enjoyed camping, fishing, and baking for her entire family, some of the favorites including Raspberry Kuchen, Peanut Squares, and Strawberry Pizza.

She is survived by her children, Carl Jr. Richter of Oregon, Wis., Clarence (Elvira) Richter of Elkhart Lake, Wallace (Beth) Richter of Greenville, Jo Ann (John) Harms of Howards Grove and Diane (Richard) Ninnemann of Howards Grove; 13 grandchildren, two step grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, two step great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Vera Woepse of Howards Grove. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Richter; a brother and sister-in-law, Earl (Bertha) Horneck and a brother-in-law, Edward Woepse; a step granddaughter, Debbie Richter; and a great-granddaughter, Jordin Koenig.

Funeral services were held Saturday noon, Nov. 9, at the Schneider Funeral Home (123 South St.) in Plymouth with the Rev. Dr. Ernest Huntzinger officiating. Entombment followed in the Greenlawn Cemetery in the town of Sheboygan.

A memorial fund has been established.
