Risch, a setter, is on the first unit for the second straight season – both times as a unanimous choice. Schueler, an outside hitter, was also a unanimous pick as she moved up from the second team last year.

The Tigers’ other All-CLC players include senior libero (back-row specialist) Valerie Free and senior middle blocker Courtney Milz on the second team and senior outside hitter Becca Young on honorable mention.

Earning all-league recognition for the Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah Resorters is sophomore outside hitter Rachael Flora.

“Autumn’s very dedicated in the off-season and that hard work really gives her an advantage during the season. She is a real student of the game,” said Tiger head coach Brett Damrow.

She also had 161 kills, 309 digs and 16 solo blocks.

“Ali is a very athletic player. She makes extremely difficult plays look routine. She is a very good fundamental passer and is turning into a mature attacker,” Damrow pointed out.

Schueler paced the Tigers in kills with an impressive 513 (4.4 per game) and tied for the lead in serve receptions with 556. She contributed 84 ace serves, eight solo blocks and 497 digs.

“Val is a very aggressive server who set the all-time record for aces at Howards Grove. She is a very good passer,” observed Damrow.

Free totaled 80 ace serves and a team-high 556 serve receptions and 507 digs for the season.

“Courtney is a very quick leaper which makes her a very effective middle attacker and blocker. She ends her career as No. 8 on the Howards Grove all- time block list,” said Damrow.

Milz led the Tigers in solo blocks with 25 and total blocks, 55, this past season. She also contributed 198 kills and 41 digs.

“Becca bring high energy to every practice and match. She has good body strength which really helps her be a strong attacker,” Damrow noted.

Young had 129 kills, 64 ace serves, five solo blocks and 177 digs.

“Rachael was an essential, allaround player for our team,” said Resorter head coach Terri Huether.

“She was a leader on the court and off the court. Rachael worked hard in the off-season as well as in the season.”

Flora had 60 kills, five solo blocks, 170 digs and 22 ace serves in CLC action. She was an 89.7-percent server.
