PHS grad top Minnesota finisher

FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. – Haley Johnson, a former standout distance runner at Plymouth High School, was the University of Minnesota’s top runner and fifth overall in the Rocky’s Run cross country meet here Nov. 10.

Johnson, a redshirt freshman, ran a time of 22 minutes, 48 seconds on the 6,000-meter course. The Gophers had 25 runners in the meet, which was their final home meet of the season, including eight unattached competitors.

Johnson, a 2012 PHS graduate, was a Division 1 state champion in the 3,200 run in track and placed third in the D-2 state cross country meet as a senior at PHS. She is also a distance runner on the Gopher track squad.
