The game was the Tigers’ season opener under new head coach Eric Worth. The Indians dropped to 1-2.

The Tigers bolted to a 15-3 lead in the first quarter and were in control the rest of the way. Junior guard Alex Strege ignited Howards’ run with three straight threepoint goals.

Strege finished the game with a career-high 18 points, including four treys, which tied him for team scoring honors with junior guard Ethan Brinkman. The Tigers hit seven three-point shots in the game.

“It was a nice way to start off the season. We have a lot to work on but the guys played extremely hard from start to finish,” said Worth.

“I’m proud of the way we competed, and everyone contributed in one way or the other.”

The Tigers, playing an up-tempo style, ran the floor well and were effective in attacking the basket which resulted in several points.
