GAYLORD “PEEWEE” KRAHN

Gaylord “PeeWee” Krahn, age 84, of Beechwood passed away unexpectedly Saturday afternoon, Nov. 30, 2013, at his home.

He was born March 8, 1929, in the town of Scott, Wis., a son of the late Ervin and Marie (Kreutzinger) Krahn. He attended North Beechwood School.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1945-47 in World War II on the USS Tucson CL98 with a rank of seaman first class. In April of 2011, he was able to participate in the Veterans Honor Flight Program.

On May 26, 1962, he married Marjorie “Margie” Luedtke at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cascade. The couple resided in Beechwood for 42 years. His wife preceded him in death July 5, 2004.

He was employed at Stolper Industries in Menomonee Falls for 37 years and then at KSM in Germantown for 10 years until his retirement. He was also employed at Times Printing in Random Lake from May of 1998 until the present.

He was a member of the American Legion Triangle B Post #193 in Beechwood/ Batavia and a retired honorary Beechwood Fire Department member.

He is a member of New Horizon U.C.C. in Boltonville.

He enjoyed turkey and pheasant hunting and being a member of the “Saturday afternoon meeting group.”

Survivors include two children, Rodney (Kalee) Krahn of Batavia and Kay (James) Muench of Batavia; five grandchildren: Bradley Rammer of Minnesota, Wanda (Gary) Schaefer of Plymouth, Brek Rammer (special friend, Andrea Bonk) of Dallas, Texas, and Lisa (Joel) Kelling of Batavia and Lauren Krahn of Random Lake; nine great-grandchildren: Brock, Ethan, Spencer, Zoe, Alysa, Rachel, Morgan, Lindsey and Kayla; one great-great-grandson, Noah Glander; two step grandchildren, Scott and Nicolas Bloecher of Batavia; three step great-grandchildren: Arianna and Cienna Bloecher and Brayden Hermann; 10 brothers and sisters: Shirley Mull of West Allis, Ellis Krahn of Beechwood, Eleanore (Syl) Stern of West Bend, Eugene (Annie) Krahn of Beechwood, Wesley (Sandy) Krahn of Arizona, Donna Wimmer of Arkansas, Sylvester (Jean) Krahn of Beechwood, Neil (Barb) Krahn of Kansas City, Mo., and Karen (Ray) Borchert of Arizona and Dianna Bellin of Florida; one brother-in-law, Ivan (Byrdell) Schulz of Campbellsport and two sisters-in-law, Gayl Schmidt of Beechwood and Doris Krahn of Beechwood; and also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Karen Rammer; one son, Lance Luedtke; and two brothers, Adrian and Ronald Krahn.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. The Rev. David Schlieter, pastor of New Horizon United Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Cascade.

Friends may call at Suchon Funeral Home from 3 p.m. Thursday until the time of services.

The Ladewig-Zinkgraf American Legion Post #243 of Plymouth will conduct military rites at the funeral home on Thursday evening following the services.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Gaylord’s name.
