This year the league players can choose to participate in either the first or second semester, or both semesters of the school year, so the first matches are coming up soon.

The season kicks off with matches at 7:30 and 8:15 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5 in the PHS Amphitheatre. The next round of matches will be held at 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m on Saturday, Dec. 7 at the ComedySportz Arena in Milwaukee located at 420 South 1st St. The last round of fall home matches will be at 7:30 and 8:15 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 19 in the PHS Amphitheatre.

Admission is $3 for one game, $5 for two or $7 for all three at either venue. The home games will be four-on-four players, Plymouth vs. Plymouth. The games that are played in Milwaukee will be against other schools.

The team also will perform free for the public at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8 in the PHS Amphitheatre.

The PHS Jolly Pranksters is the only high school comic improvisation team from Sheboygan County that participates in the ComedySportz High School League. This is the eighth year the school has competed.

A Jolly Prankster comic improvisation show consists of a variety of improvisational games played by the team members, or “act-letes,” who spontaneously create comedic scenes and skits. The players often compete to earn points that are awarded based on the audience response, and the group that is dubbed by the referee as being the funniest earns the most points. Audience participation is highly encouraged and an integral part of each show.

The players on the 2013 first semester roster are: seniors Brook Bignell, Jenny Krusiec, Austin Kultgen, Jordan Lentz, Mike Loehrke, Nadya Mukhaleva, Matt Nelson and Paige Reise; juniors Jimmy Balistreri, Shauna Clemens, Jonathan Gideon, Patrick Lemkuil and Andrea Werner; sophomores Daniel Christansen, Alex Gravatt, Meredith Grimes, Kate Harms, Alex Kleiber, Julia Krueger, Kyra Kronberg, Adam LaVine, Abby Nicholson, Kelly Pocian, Mary Riley and Stephanie Zimmerman; and freshmen Sara Cicali, Delaney Scudella and Leah Schuldt.
