Helen Elaine Wendorf, age 90, of West Bend, formerly of Greenbush and Plymouth, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at the Cedar Community in West Bend.

She was born July 22, 1923, in Belleville, Wis., daughter of the late Homer and Neva (Gillette) Williams. She attended grade school and also high school in the Milwaukee area.

On Sept. 20, 1941, she married Harold Alfred Wendorf at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Milwaukee.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Glenbeulah, a member of the Ladies Aid, where she served as treasurer, was a Sunday morning greeter, and volunteered for the Orphan Grain Train.

She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #261 of Greenbush, the Plymouth Creamers and enjoyed playing dartball at the Senior Center. Helen was also very well known for hosting and cooking for family members and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Harold; three children, Diane (Charles) Dickinson of Frankfort, Ky.; Edward Wendorf of Kewaskum, Wis., and Alan (Suzanne) Wendorf of Wheaton, Ill.; seven grandchildren, Bryan (Susan) Dickinson, Glen (Dana) Dickinson, Daniel (Shoba) Dickinson, Gary Wendorf, John (Beckie) Wendorf, Matthew (Doan) Wendorf and Sally (Braden) Grieser; 10 great-grandchildren, Steffi, Phillip, Aashi, Hanna, Christopher, Luke, Danica, Maggie, Charlie and Ruby.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Arno Herpich; five brothers, Donald, Virgil, Robert, Melvin and Raymond and two sisters, Thelma and Beatrice.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Tuesday, Dec. 10, at Zion Lutheran Church in Glenbeulah with the Rev. Donald Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenbush Cemetery.

Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Schneider Funeral Home & Life Tributes of Plymouth has been entrusted with the arrangements.

A memorial fund has been established in the name of Helen E. Wendorf for Zion Lutheran Church.
