Donald Nelson Krauss, age 105, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, at Pine Haven Christian Home in Sheboygan Falls.

He was born in Chicago, Ill., on Nov. 11, 1908, son of the late Arthur and Julia (Nelson) Kraus.

At the age of 10, he moved with his family from Chicago to the Plymouth area. He attended Plymouth schools and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1926.

On June 9, 1934, he married Alma Feldmann. She preceded him in death Dec. 24, 2003.

Donald was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Waldo, a member of the Quarter Century Club at Borden’s, Cassia Lodge #167 Free and Accepted Masons, where he played the organ for over 70 years. He sang in the Kraft Chorus and the Borden’s Chorus, and furnished organ and accordion music for many occasions.

Through his working career, Donald worked for Borden’s in Plymouth for over 47 years as a purchasing agent.

He is survived by his nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives and friends

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, Dec. 15, at the Schneider Funeral Home, 123 South St., Plymouth, with the Rev. Nhia Wahn, pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church in Waldo, officiating. Burial followed in the Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established in the name of Donald N. Krauss.
