Ausloos sparks Resorters to first CLC victory

RANDOM LAKE – Junior guard-forward Mariah Ausloos had a team-high 19 points and 10 rebounds to ignite the Elkhart Lake- Glenbeulah Resorters past Random Lake, 50-44, in a girls basketball game here Thursday night.

The Resorters improved to 1-2 in the Central Lakeshore Conference (2-2 overall). The Rams dropped to 0-2 in the CLC (1-2 overall).

Elkhart trailed 22-20 at halftime before outscoring the Rams 11-5 in the third quarter to go ahead for good, 31-27.

“The game was close throughout and both teams played hard. We just made a few more plays down the stretch,” said Resorter head coach Donny Kulow. _

“Mariah had a nice overall game with a double-double.

“We played with more energy than versus Sheboygan Christian. It was a nice win for us on the road,” Kulow said.

The Resorters bounced back from a 41-36 loss to Christian Tuesday night.

Ashley Pfeifer paced Elkhart in steals with four and Rachael Flora had three. Emma Feldmann had a team-high five assists and two blocked shots. Flora also pulled down six boards.

Senior Delaney Sinnen led the Rams in scoring with 26.

The Resorters were strong on the boards with a 32-22 rebounding edge, including a 12-7 advantage on offense.
