JOYCE MOEHR

Joyce Moehr, age 89, formerly of Plymouth, Wis., passed away Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013.

She was born Oct. 17, 1924 in Algoma, Wis., a daughter of the late John and Ada Dorothy (Alden) Van Der Sande.

On June 2, 1945, she married Everett Moehr at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Cascade. The couple resided in Cascade for over 25 years before moving to Helena, Mont., in 1972 and then to Plymouth in 1974. She resided in Cedarburg for five years and then moved to Care-Age of Brookfield. Her husband preceded her in death July 19, 1998.

She loved fishing, sewing, reading and gardening.

Survivors include five children: Dorothy Moehr of Butler, Anita Saferite of Milwaukee, John Moehr of Milwaukee, Joan (Mark, deceased) DeTroye of Aiken, S.C., and Steve (Kathryn) Moehr of Quebec, Canada; eight grandchildren: Wesley Saferite Jr. (Jessica) of Milwaukee, Carrie Jo (Danny, deceased) Bromberg of Brookfield, Timothy (Shannon) DeTroye of Aiken, Eric DeTroye of Sheboygan, Christine (Chad) Gartzke of Richfield, Jeremy (Amanda) Moehr of Sheboygan, Andrew Moehr of Milwaukee and Lisa (Jacob) Koepsell of Sheboygan; nine great-grandchildren: Ryan and Kaylie Bromberg, Wesley Saferite III, Danielle and Amelia DeTroye, Emily, Rachel and Katie Mae Gartzke and Grace Koepsell; one sister, Audrey Cascante of Sheboygan and one sister-in-law, Luverne Van Der Sande of Neshkoro, Wis.; and also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Everett; three brothers, Robert, John and Alden; and one grandson, Warren Saferite.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. The Rev. Tom Fleischmann, chaplain for the Sheboygan County Health Care Facilities, will officiate. Cremation has taken place and inurnment will be in the Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery in the spring of 2014.

Friends may call at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth from 12 noon Saturday until the time of services.

A memorial fund for the American Heart Association is being established in Joyce’s name.
