Dutchmen pin CLC loss on Resorters

OOSTBURG – The Oostburg Flying Dutchmen won the final seven matches to cruise past the Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah Resorters, 57-21, in a Central Lakeshore Conference dual wrestling meet here Thursday night.

The meet was the Resorters’ CLC opener. Elkhart slipped to 1-5 overall in dual action.

Elkhart led 21-18 through the first seven matches before the Dutchmen went on their run which included three pins, three forfeits by Elkhart and a decision. The Resorters forfeited five matches which gave Oostburg 30 team points.

Elkhart won four matches, led by Trent Rebedew and Trevor Rebedew who scored pins at 120 and 145, respectively. Also winning for the visitors were Franky Perko with a 15-0 technical fall at 106 and Brock Bonebrake with a 14-2 major decision at 138.

“We were right there with them out of the gate. We were down 24-21 going into the 160-pound match where our forfeits caught up to us,” said Resorter head coach Larry Ward. “The kids wrestled hard.”

132 – Roman Katzer (O) pinned Jared Shaw, 1:42.

138 – Brock Bonebrake (EL) major dec. Jonah Frier 14-2.

145 – Trevor Rebedew (EL) pinned Connor Gasbarro, 1:52.

152 – Charlie Yeadon (O) pinned Gunnr Johnson, :30.

160 – Cody Mullikin (O) won by forfeit.

170 – Ryan Ebeling (O) won by forfeit.

182 – Andrew Bonnett (O) won by forfeit.

195 – Jordan Blok (O) dec. Nick Miller 5-0.

220 – Garrett Hackl (O) pinned Jordan Puchalla, 1:43.

285 – Jesse Rogers (O) pinned Izaiah A nis, 1:31.
