The meet was the Panthers’ Eastern Wisconsin Conference dual opener. PHS upped its overall dual record to 2-2.

Senior Brad Hetlet and Matt Matz and sophomore Chaz Halderson competed in three winning events each to lead PHS. Hetlet swam on all three winning relays – 200-yard medley, and the 200 and 400 freestyles.

Matz, a senior, won the 50 freestyle and was in the 200 and 400 freestyle relays. Halderson earned a victory in the 100 breaststroke and swam on the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relay teams.

“It was awesome to win every relay and we almost went 1-2 in all three,” said Panther head coach Clare Sedlacek.

“Our younger guys are swimming really well, and it shows in the times of our second and third swimmers on varsity and all our junior varsity guys.

“Matt Matz had a good day – winning his 50, 2nd in the 100 and being a part of two winning free relays. Peter Roth and Brent Thiel had some nice drops in time to go 1-2 [respectively] in the 100 butterfly.

“The divers were only diving against themselves but had good effort from all three guys. Evan Klemme continues to increase his degree of difficulty,” said Sedlacek.

Noah Draxler was a double-winner for the Raiders as he captured the 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke races.

PHS breezed to an 81-10 win in the JV meet.
