Adopt a family help

To The Editor:

The Christmas spirit has hit employees of the Kohler Co. The 13th annual Adopt a Family campaign kicked off in late November with the final date of Dec. 6.

A total of $4,932.07 dollars were raised to help families in need this year.

The Adopt a Family campaign is a joint effort between Kohler Co. management, support folks and UAW Local 833.

It started 13 years ago when the UAW Local 833 Community Services committee approached Kohler Co. management with the idea of working together for a good cause and helping folks within our community.

We would like to acknowledge the efforts of all who volunteered to collect the funds and thank the folks for their generous contributions.

While we appreciate all the participants we felt a special acknowledgement should be given to the folks who took the extra effort to raise funds.

The winners of raising the most dollars was the Pottery Division, which raised $6.12 per employee. Rumor has it that there was some creative fundraising done to promote donating.

The Engine Division Chief Steward Tim Tayloe, along with members John Meunier and Steve Ottman, received second place raising $4.80 per employee. They also had innovated ways to entice folks to donate.

The funds are used to purchase gifts for families in our community.

Pat Prigge from Sheboygan County Health and Human Services recently stated how the Kohler Co. employees have helped so much over the past years.

The Community Services Committee would also like to thank the collectors and donors for their effort, time and money.

They really made a difference for families in our community.
