EMILIE M. MAHLOCH

Emilie M. Mahloch, 72, of W5543 Garton Road, Plymouth (town of Rhine), died Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 8, 2014, at St. Nicholas Hospital, Sheboygan, surrounded by her loving family and friends after a brave fight with cancer.

She was the former Emilie Henschel, born June 13, 1941, in the town of Russell, daughter of the late Alder and Martha (Mann) Henschel. Emilie was a 1959 graduate of Elkhart Lake High School.

On April 23, 1960, she was united in marriage to David Mahloch at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Kiel.

Emilie took great pride in raising her family on a dairy farm in the town of Rhine. She also worked at Wilderness Log Homes and Expedition Log Homes in sales and design.

She was a very active, lifelong member of St. Paul Christian Church, town of Russell, where she was involved in many committees and groups including, Stephens Ministry, chairperson of the Missions Committee and church treasurer. She was also instrumental in the church addition, the 150th Anniversary Committee as well as mentoring church youth. Emilie made sure to always take the time to be with friends and family and was also active in many civic and community events including 4-H and PTA.

Emilie was famous for her cooking, especially her delicious German potato salad. She enjoyed camping, traveling, spending time in her flowerbeds, gardening and collecting angels. Her most important role was being a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was the best cheerleader for all her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and activities.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, David; five children: Steven (Kelly) Mahloch, Plymouth, grandchildren Whitney and Ali; Lisa (Dave) Jacobson, Pequot Lakes, Minn., grandchildren Colin (Sonya), Brett, Wesley, David, Samantha (Steven), Austin and Tyler, great-granddaughter Brooklyn; Scott (Kris) Mahloch, Plymouth, grandchildren Alyssa and Devin; Shawn (Kim) Mahloch, Redondo Beach, Calif., grandchildren Amalya, Hadley and Caiman; and Stacy Mahloch, Salida, Calif., grandchildren Alexis, Austin and Evan. She is further survived by her brothers, Royal (Joann) Henschel and Bernard (Arlis) Henschel, both of Elkhart Lake; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Carol and (Jerry) Truttschel, Donna (Roger) Schwarz, Red Mannenbach; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters-in-law, Sandy Mahloch and Marge Mannenbach.

Funeral services for Emilie were held Sunday evening, Jan. 12, at St. Paul Christian Church (N8903 County J, Elkhart Lake) with the Rev. Keith Hunholz officiating. Burial took place in the church cemetery.

A memorial has been established for St. Paul Christian Church, town of Russell.
