Blood drive heroes

The Plymouth Lions and Ladewig-Zinkgraf American Legion Post 243 of Plymouth cosponsored a blood drive for The BloodCenter of Wisconsin Monday at Redeemer Lutheran Church on Eastern Avenue. It was the first of six drives the two groups will hold throughout the year. The BloodCenter of Wisconsin is a non-profit organization that supplies the blood for use in more than 50 Wisconsin hospitals as well as Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center, Froedtert, Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin and the Aurora Surgery Center in Plymouth. Giving blood takes roughly an hour. Donors must be healthy, have a valid driver’s license or photo ID, and the ability to give some needed medical information. The other blood drives this year will also be held on Monday afternoons, on March 24, May 19, July 28, Sept. 29 and Nov. 24.
