GLENN MARVIN THEEL

Glenn Marvin Theel, age 62, of Elkhart Lake, died unexpectedly, on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, due to an accident on his property in Marinette, Wis.

He was born in Plymouth on Dec. 16, 1951, to the late Elroy and Eleanor (Kraemer) Theel.

He attended grade school and graduated from Elkhart Lake High School in 1970 and later attended Lakeshore Technical College (LTC) taking classes in mechanics.

He married Marilyn Bischoff on Aug. 6, 1983, in Valparaiso, Ind., at Immanuel Lutheran

Church.

He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Elkhart Lake, and a member of the Elkhart Lake Lions Club.

Through his working career, Glenn worked for the Kohler Co. retiring in 1988 after about 10 years with the company. After leaving the Kohler Co., Glenn and his brother Wally began Theel Auto in Elkhart Lake.

In his free time Glenn enjoyed tinkering with machinery and running equipment both at home, on the land and around the ponds in Marinette; he loved fishing and hunting, gardening, working on classic cars, and loved being at the shop. Family was very important to Glenn and loved spending time with them; just this past week his family was able to spend time together at their family reunion. Glenn also had the gift of conversation. Marilyn often found herself waiting for him, while he finished telling a story, talking with friends or a person he may have just met.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn of Elkhart Lake; a daughter, Sarah Hessil of Texas; two grandsons, Javian Hessil of Elkhart Lake and Elliot Hessil of Texas; and four brothers, Ronald (Patricia) Theel of Elkhart Lake, Thomas (Theresa) Theel of Malone, Steven Theel of Elkhart Lake and Wallace (Karen) Theel of Elkhart Lake. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, Jason Theel.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at Grace Lutheran Church in Elkhart Lake with the Rev. Peter Peitsch officiating.

Friends may call at the church Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Schneider Funeral Home & Life Tributes of Plymouth has been entrusted with the arrangements.
