Students invited to try competitive swimming

Kids from 7 years old through sixth grade can get a taste of competitive swimming through the Winter Swim Clubs offered by Plymouth School District Community Education and Recreation.

The focus will be on improving the four competitive swim strokes, as well as on learning competitive starts and turns. These are not swimming lessons; every participant must be able to swim and will be evaluated on the first day.

Clubs will meet with Plymouth High School boys swim team head coach Clare Sedlacek on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from Feb. 24 to March 20 in the PHS pool. The Early Club will meet from 4:00 to 4:45 p.m. and the Intermediate Club from 4:45 to 5:30 p.m. Fee for either is $35 per student until Feb. 14, then $45.

You are asked to visit for more information about this class and others offered this winter, as well as a printable registration form that can be mailed to Community Ed & Rec. Online registration also is available; this option, which carries a $4 service charge, allows people to pay with a credit card and also to receive immediate confirmation of enrollment.

For more information, visit, email, call (920) 892-5068, or stop by the Community Ed & Rec office on the north end of Plymouth High School, 125 Highland Ave.
