Resorters breeze to CLC victory

The Rams’ Logan Martin looks on. — Photo by Mike McGill ELKHART LAKE – The Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah boys basketball team had one of its best performances of the season as it soundly defeated visiting Random Lake, 41-24, Friday night.

The Resorters, who have won three of their last four games, improved to 3-9 in the Central Lakeshore Conference (6-11 overall). The Rams fell to 3-9 in the CLC (5-13 overall).

“It was a great win for us on Friday. It was the first time in a long time we had a nice lead on someone. This may have been our most complete day [game] of the season,” said Resorter head coach Jim Brown.

Elkhart, led by senior forward Antonio Bett’s nine points, mounted an 18-9 halftime advantage. The Resorters, who led the entire outscoring the Rams 23-14 in the second half.

Bett also had a team-high nine rebounds, followed by Taubenheim’s five.

Stephan Clemens led Elkhart in assists with four. Bett and AJ Lallensack contributed three apiece. Taubenheim had a team-best two steals.

“Trevor Taubenheim had a very nice game along with Stephan Clemens. But everyone did their job the way it needs to be done,” Brown said.

JUNIOR VARSITY GAME

Elkhart rallied from a 10-2 deficit after one quarter to tie the game, 24-24 after regulation, but eventually lost in double-overtime, 37-34.

Tyler Schultz and Jordan Bahr paced the Resorters in scoring with nine each. Bahr pulled down a team-high nine rebounds.
