JoAnn A. Ernst, age 59, of Glenbeulah, passed peacefully Friday evening, Feb. 21, 2014, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls surrounded by her family.

She was born March 19, 1954 in Sheboygan, Wis., daughter of Valeria (Voss) Nohl and the late Lester Nohl. She was a graduate of Kiel High School and attended Lakeland College.

On May 31, 1975, she was united in marriage to Richard C. Ernst at Bethel United Church of Christ, Elkhart Lake. The couple operated a dairy farm in the town of Glenbeulah.

She was also employed as a deployment analyst for 36 years for Borden Foods/Dairy Farmers of America.

She was an active community member serving as a member of the Merry Wades Homemakers, a general leader of Kettle Moraine 4-H Club and a member of the Camo Quilt Project.

She enjoyed snowmobiling, bowling, quilting/sewing, NASCAR races and traveling.

Survivors include her mother, Valeria Nohl of Kiel; husband, Richard Ernst of Glenbeulah; four children: Cindy (Jason) Fendrick of Mount Horeb, Julie (Ryan) Syse of DeForest, Ricky Ernst (fiancée, Natasha Lambrecht) of Glenbeulah and Ryan Ernst of Glenbeulah; four grandchildren: Ethan and Aaron Fendrick, Raedyn Syse and Alayna Lambrecht; one brother, Leander Nohl of Kiel; one sister, Mardell (Steve) Blohm of Kiel; sisters- and brothers in-law: Barbara Kirst of Plymouth, Ann (Roger) Schneider of Kewaskum, Lorraine (Gene) Rooker of Plymouth, Mary Perman of Plymouth, Linda (Tom) Schwinn of West Bend, Eileen (Roland) Hoftiezer of Plymouth and Lori Ernst of Fond du Lac; and also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lester Nohl; her mother- and fatherin law, Raymond and Rosella Ernst; one sister-in-law, Phyllis Nohl; and four brothers in-law: Roger Ernst, Roy Voeller, Ray Kirst and Richard Perman.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, at Bethel UCC, Elkhart Lake. The Rev. Jim Liddle, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call at the Suchon Funeral Home on Tuesday evening, Feb. 25, from 4-8 p.m. and at the CHURCH on Wednesday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in JoAnn’s name.
