UW-S hosts high school art competition

Area high school aspiring artists are invited to participate in the University of Wisconsin-Sheboygan’s 14th Annual High School Student Art Scholarship Competition. All artwork submitted will be eligible for place awards and all high school seniors planning to attend UW-Sheboygan will be considered for scholarships provided by the UW-Sheboygan Foundation.

Drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture, mixed media, metalsmithing, illustration and graphic design artworks all will be accepted for the competition.

All area art students are encouraged to enter pieces in this competition each year, even if they have already committed to another college or university, but only high school seniors who have applied for acceptance at UW-Sheboygan will be considered for the pool of $1,500 in available scholarships.

All artwork and application forms must be submitted by 5 p.m. on March 5, 2014. Work may be submitted Monday-Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. or by appointment to the UW-Sheboygan Fine Arts Building, Room 7004. The UW-Sheboygan campus is located at One University Drive in Sheboygan, just off Taylor Drive.

No more than two works of art may be submitted per student and all submitted work must have an application form attached to the back. All two-dimensional artwork must be matted and framed.

All work from the show must be picked up between 3 and 5 p.m. March 31-April 2.
