The tourney began as a fun winter event amongst a small group of PHS juniors and seniors. This year, the group expanded to 36 people competing for the coveted “Toilet Seat” traveling trophy.

The event included nine four-player teams. Mitch Adams, a 2005 PHS graduate, was the only local player on the championship squad.

The players were from Washington, D.C., Minnesota, Michigan and Wisconsin. The event, which gave the participants an opportunity to renew friend- ships, started with the singing of the National Anthem led by a trombone (the trumpet froze because it was so cold).

The fun-filled event, which included an intermission, concluded with the awarding of the “Toilet Seat” trophy to the winning team.

The tournament has been so popular that in 2011, while Zimmermann was on an intern assignment in India, his friends arranged the event in his absence. Zimmermann, who works and resides in Washington, D.C., is from Cascade. One of his co-workers, his girlfriend and his roommate from Washington D.C., were among the tourney participants.
