Devin LeMahieu announces candidacy for Assembly

DEVIN LeMAHIEU DEVIN LeMAHIEU Devin LeMahieu of Oostburg announced his candidacy for the 26th Assembly District as a Republican Saturday.

LeMahieu has served on the Sheboygan County Board for 8 years where he has been a member of the Executive Committee, Finance Committee and chairman of the Human Resource Committee. LeMahieu owns the Lakeshore Weekly.

“During my 8 years on the County Board we have reduced payroll related expenses by over $13 million, stream-lined programs, reduced the tax levy 4 of the last 7 years and avoided burdening Sheboygan County residents with a county sales tax all while maintaining high quality services and employees,” LeMahieu said. “In addition to my 8 years of experience on the County Board, I have also owned and operated my own business for the last 12 years.”

The incumbent Assemblyman, Republican Michael Endsley of Sheboygan, has announced he would not be running for re-election after serving two terms in Madison.

“I thank Rep. Endsley for his four years of service to Wisconsin in the 26th Assembly District. Gov. Walker, with the help of Rep. Endsley and the state Legislature, dramatically changed the business climate in Wisconsin the last three years such that 95 percent of our businesses believe our state is now heading in the right direction. This would not have been possible without the dedicated commitment of leaders in the Assembly like Rep. Endsley.” “Wisconsin has begun the process of reducing the tax and regulatory burden on citizens and businesses. I look forward to working with the Governor, Assembly and Senate turning Wisconsin into a destination for business expansion. My service on the Sheboygan County Board, experience as a small business owner and my conservative values are what the voters of this district want representing them in Madison.”

“I hope to meet all the residents of the 26th District the next few months as I knock on their doors and attend the many community events throughout the district this summer. I value their input as we continue to move Wisconsin forward.”

The 26th Assembly District includes the villages of Oostburg, Cedar Grove, Random Lake and Adell, the city of Sheboygan Falls and the towns of Holland, Wilson, Lima and Sherman, and the central and southern portions of the city of Sheboygan.
