PAC presents painters for preservation

The Plymouth Arts Center and Gallery 110 North announce a new exhibit of paintings by members of the Water’s Edge Artists. The show opens to the public on Friday, April 4th and will run through May 30th.

This group of artists came together originally to inspire local restoration efforts and further develop a stewardship ethic, bridging art and preservation of environmentally endangered places. The artists met monthly for paint-outs in “plein air” throughout Wisconsin’s lakeshore region. The Water’s Edge Artists continue to move forward with an expanded focus that includes historic preservation as well as environmentally sensitive subjects. They currently look forward to collaborating with Door County Land Trust, the Wisconsin Maritime Museum, the Fox River Wisconsin Heritage Parkway, the Ridges Sanctuary, Woodland Dunes, the Wisconsin and National Trust for Historic Preservation, LNRP and many other entities in 2014 and beyond. A portion of the sale of each work of art is donated by the member artist to Water’s Edge Artists. In turn, WEA financially partners with worthy, like minded preservation organizations to help further their cause.

The public is invited to meet the artists at the opening reception on Friday, April 4th from 4:30-8:00 pm Presenting sponsors for this exhibit are: Plymouth Rotary Club and Mooney & Siegert Law Office. Musical entertainment will be provided by Robert Herrmann, piano and Iona Herrmann, clarinet from 5:00 - 6:15 p.m. and by Kathy Arndt, piano and harp from 6:15-7:30 pm.
