Evelyn M. McCabe (nee Van Treeck), age 92, of Plymouth, Wis., passed away late Friday evening, March 28, 2014, at the Sharon S. Richardson Hospice in Sheboygan Falls.

She was born Sept. 11, 1921, at Six Corners (Sheboygan Falls), Wis., a daughter of the late Aloys and Margaret (Jentges) Van Treeck. Evelyn attended St. George Catholic Grade School at Six Corners.

On May 11, 1946, she married James W. McCabe at St. George Parish at Six Corners. The couple resided and farmed in Sheboygan County since their marriage. He preceded her in death March 17, 1993.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth, and belonged to the Christian Women’s Society in the church.

Evelyn’s life was spending time with her loving family and running the family homestead working side by side with her husband.

She enjoyed doing word games, playing cards and gardening.

Evelyn is survived by her loving children: Edward (Linda) McCabe, John (Mary) McCabe, Gerald McCabe, Donald McCabe, Mary (Charles) Schamberger, Theresa (Stephen) Freund, Paul (Karen) McCabe, Kathryn McCabe, Leon (Vickie) McCabe and Patrick McCabe (Michele Keeler); grandchildren: Amy (Brian) Schroeder, Tami (Jon) Pfeffer, John M. McCabe, Aaron (Trish) McCabe, Ryan McCabe, Joel McCabe, Jamie Hilbelink, Sara (Jeff) Pilgrim, Dekker McCabe, Gerry (Sara) Schamberger, Larry (Katie) Schamberger, Gwenn Schamberger, Jason Feustel, Melissa Freund, Stephanie (Bill) Dieterich, Joseph (Heather) McCabe and Jessica (Danny) Lueptow; great-grandchildren: Zoe, Zayna and Zach Schroeder, Mason and Madelyn Pfeffer, Wyatt and Brodie Hilbelink, Breckin Pilgrim, Isaac Schamberger, Grayson and Greta Schamberger, Grace Dieterich, Nolan McCabe, Wyatt and Kiley Freriks and step great-grandson, Zander Welch; sisters, Delores Mueller and Mildred (Roman) Haen; brothers, Alvin (Marie) Van Treeck and Paul (Karen) Van Treeck and sister-in-law, Marilyn McCabe. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband; parents; grandson, Parker Mc- Cabe; three brothers, Melvin Van Treeck and two infants, Theodore and Wilmer and one infant sister, Mabel; and one brotherin law, Sylvester Mueller.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth. Father Dan Volkert, pastor of the church, will officiate and entombment will be in the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Sheboygan.

Relatives and friends may call at CHURCH on Wednesday morning from 11 a.m. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Evelyn’s name.
