To the Editor:

On behalf of the Sheboygan County Board, the County Administrator, the members of the Planning, Resources, Agriculture & Extension Committee, and the staff of the Planning & Conservation Department, I would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the Sheboygan County Conservation Association for their recent donation of a 40-acre piece of property located at the Sheboygan Marsh. This donation brings the total public acreage of the Sheboygan Marsh up to over 8,200 acres. Including privately-owned acreage, the Sheboygan Marsh provides about 14,000 acres for natural beauty, wildlife, and recreation.

From time to time, my position leads to travels throughout the State of Wisconsin and time and time again, I hear from other entities, individuals, and agencies how lucky Sheboygan County is to have a strong, active, organized, and proactive local conservation association. If you have an opportunity to participate in a local club meeting, join a club, or attend one of the many great events they organize for the community, I highly suggest doing so. The Sheboygan County Conservation Association is truly one of many great local organizations making our community exceptional.
