Elkhart’s Holzmann sweeps hurdles in CLC quad

Holzmann won the 100 high hurdles in 16.88 seconds and the 300 lows in 52.96.

Cedar Grove-Belgium won the girls meet with 76 points, followed by Oostburg with 47, Howards Grove, 46 and Elkhart, 41.

Sophomore Noelle Eschen was a double-winner for the Howards Tigers – taking first in the 400 dash in 1 minute, 5.59 seconds and the 200 dash in 29.16 seconds.

Oostburg won the boys quadrangular with 77 points. The Tigers took second with 62, followed by Cedar Grove with 42 and the Resorters, 34.

Howards’ individual winners were Eric Dvorachek in the 1,600 run and Drew Akright in the discus.

Elkhart had a pair of winners in Stuart Zelle in the shot put and Logan Knepfel, 110 highs.

“Overall we set quite a few personal records tonight and met time/ distance goals for many athletes,” said Resorter head coach Chris Petrie.

“We laid a solid foundation to build off for the rest of the outdoor season. We have a lot of work ahead of us.”

The meets were the outdoor openers for Elkhart and Howards.
