Phyllis Schaefer, age 83, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at the hospital in Marinette, Wis.

She was born April 19, 1931, daughter of the late William and Florice (Barber) Bauer.

She attended grade school and high school in Plymouth, later finding herself working for Gilson Brothers and Stokley Van Kamp, along with being a homemaker.

On Jan. 1, 1949, she married the love of her life, Mark Martin Schaefer Sr. in Plymouth. He preceded her in death just five short days ago on April 11, 2014.

She was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church in Glenbeulah, and a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Amber.

In her free time she enjoyed flowers and gardening, but one of her main loves was music, studying in California when she was younger, along with singing in the church choir. Both Mark and Phyllis loved to entertain; whenever you were coming through the area, they would have you over, for a home-cooked meal. However, nothing was more important than those Sunday and Hol- iday dinners with family.

She is survived by her four children: Florice Wondra of Sheboygan, Mark (Victoria) Schaefer Jr. of Wilmot, Constance Schaefer of Plymouth and Linda (Frederick) Marquardt of Buckeye, Ariz.; seven grandchildren: Todd Sterk, Troy Sterk, Gregory (Dawn) Schaefer, Edwin (Krissy) Schaefer, Tina Schaefer, Anthony Marquardt and Kyle (Brittney) Marquardt; along with seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held in conjunction with her beloved husband, Mark, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 24, at the Schneider Funeral Home in Plymouth with the Rev. Don Johnson, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church in Glenbeulah, officiating.

Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday evening from 4 p.m. until the time of service.

Schneider Funeral Home & Life Tributes, Plymouth (920-892-2626), is serving the family.
