Ausloos ignites Resorters to CLC win

CEDAR GROVE – Junior catcher Mariah Auloos drove in five runs to power the Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah Resorters past Cedar Grove-Belgium, 20-11, in softball action here Tuesday afternoon.

Sonia Schubert contributed three RBIs, two hits and a teamhigh four runs for Elkhart. The Resorters hiked their Central Lakeshore Conference record to 4-1 (4-1 overall).

The Resorters broke the game open with eight runs in the top of _ the seventh to build a 20-9 cushion. The key hits were a two-run single by Ausloos and a two-RBI double by Rachael Flora. Ausloos smashed a three-run homer in the first.

Elkhart banged out 14 hits, led by Raechel Grunewald with three. Ausloos, Flora and Miranda Sippel chipped in with two each.

Kasie Fiend sparked the Rockets’ bats with four hits, followed by Mandi Race’s three.

Aryanna Klemme was the winning pitcher with a complete game. Klemme allowed six earned runs on 12 hits with five walks, a hit batter and five strikeouts.

Rocket pitching surrendered 12 walks.

“The kids played through some tough innings. They never gave up and kept attacking,” said Resorter head coach Brian Feldmann.
