Falls sweeps season-opening EWC mini-meets

The Falcons, the two-time defending EWC champions, won the first nine-hole meet of the day, hosted by Kiel, with a 160 total. Campbellsport took second at 176, followed by Waupun at 179 and the Plymouth Panthers with 180.

Falls’ Matt Andrews and Matt Bachmann and Plymouth freshman Jake Willeford shared medalist honors with 3-over-par 39s. The Panthers’ other low players were Jaryd Larson with a 45 and Zach Gambrell and Lucas Johnson with 48s.

The Falcons cruised to victory in the second meet Tuesday, hosted by New Holstein, with a 158 total. Campbellsport placed second with 180 and PHS was third at 182.

Bachmann, a sophomore, was the medalist with an even-par 36. Andrews was the runner-up medalist with a 39.

PHS was paced by Gambrell, Larson and Willeford who tied for 11th with 45s. Aron Schilsky was the Panthers’ other low golfer with a 47.
