PHS raised its EWC record to 3-2 (6-2 overall). The Falcons dropped to 2-2 in the league (5-2 overall). Both of Falls’ losses this season are to the Panthers.

“This is a big conference win and for seeding as we are in the same regional. It was a nice road win,” said Panther head coach Gale Grahn.

In the PHS sixth, Mikaela Holdridge singled and Erika Stauss followed with a sacrifice bunt. Stauss reached first base on an error on her bunt. Holdridge scored on a fielder’s choice by Brianna Sippel which gave PHS a 2-1 lead.

Sara Romps followed with wallk. Paige Stoney then delivered a tworun single to make it 4-1. Mckenna Nischke’s sacrifice bunt brought home Romps.

The Falcons grabbed a 1-0 lead in the second on a two-out RBI single by Kaitlyn Hoffman.

PHS tied the game in the fourth when Holdridge reached first on an error and later scored on Sara Romps’ two-out single.

Rachel Romps notched a complete-game victory. The lefty allowed one earned run on five hits with zero walks and seven strikeouts.

Ashley Drossel took the loss and threw a five-hitter. Drossel surrendered three earned runs and four walks while fanning three.

Stauss led PHS in hits with two. Stoney had a team-high two RBIs and Holdridge led in runs with a pair.

Megan Kapellen and Hoffmann paced the Falcons in hits with two each.

A junior varsity game wasn’t held because Falls’ field was too wet.
